Lincoln Moore's Port Augusta preview

BEST BET: FULTON STREET (Race 2)

EACH-WAY: ROCKFACE LOUIE (Race 7)

VAKLE: GALAXY FALLS (Race 5)

RACE 1 - 1:55PM Milhinch Hourglass Jewellers Maiden Plate (1396 METRES)

Looks a good race for SCARLET RIVER, who comes off a handy effort at Oakbank running third behind Comfort Girl. Her previous at Morphettville was very good behind Zero Inn and she gets her chance to break through. LADY AWARD looks a danger. She ran fourth behind Odeum on debut and her latest behind Ultimate View at Strathalbyn was OK for a race like this. PRINCE SAIYAN looks the other main winning hope. He was runner-up in the race won by Ultimate View at Strathalbyn before he was well beaten behind Reynolds at Oakbank – but that form stood up in city grade yesterday.

SELECTIONS: SCARLET RIVER, Lady Award, Prince Saiyan

RACE 2 - 2:35PM Cinema Augusta Benchmark 62 Handicap (1600 METRES)

FULTON STREET loves it here with four wins from his six starts and getting back in trip looks ideal. His run at Morphettville three starts back when second behind Monraaj was excellent and he has a good barrier with the claim to help offset his big weight. DESIDERO looks a clear danger. He has two wins and second from three starts here and was fourth behind Neodium at Morphettville three runs back. He’ll be handy to the speed and has a weight advantage. MALVADO is having his first run on the dirt and did trial well at Morphettville before he was beaten 3.6 lengths into eighth at Oakbank behind Magic Award.

SELECTIONS: FULTON Street, Desidero, Malvado

RACE 3 - 3:05PM Datgaw Services Maiden Handicap (1100 METRES)

AQUAMOSS comes out of a good maiden at Murray Bridge beaten 4.8 lengths behind Miss Mucinni who looked above average He was on speed, he draws a good gate and looks right in the finish. ZIPADEE was placed at Gawler behind Lucy Diamonds back in February and looks well suited in a race like this. His Balaklava effort two starts back was good enough to be in the finish here. JUST TREVA was sent out favourite at Streaky Bay last time when third behind Portrait Of Macie. I GOT STRINGS was runner-up in the same race at a price and must be respected on that effort.

SELECTIONS: AQUAMOSS, Zipadee, I Got Strings

RACE 4 - 3:35PM Darryl Fullerton Memorial Benchmark 68 Handicap (Heat 8 Autumn Series) (1396 METRES)

BUDGET KING had a big boom on him last year on the dirt. He won here by 8.5 lengths before going to Darwin and winning the NT Derby by 7.5 lengths. He jumped right in the market before he finished well down the track in the Darwin Cup and was then placed in the Katherine Cup. He’s first-up but gets in well with the weight and should be hard to beat. IT’S HUMPHREY looks a danger. He’s won four of nine here and must be respected. LEONARDA was a Port Lincoln winner three runs back and her form is solid for this. ALPHAEUS won a Clare maiden three runs back while JAAMINT has won two races here.

SELECTIONS: BUDGET KING, It’s Humphrey, Leonarda

RACE 5 - 4:05PM SCA LiSTNR APP Benchmark 52 Handicap (1396 METRES)

FALLOW is a former NSW galloper who was a winner at Murwillumbah before a solid effort at his SA debut, running fifth behind Raise An Army at Port Lincoln. That looks solid form for a race like this. He’s short but does look very well placed and the market reflects that. GALAXY FALLS has been around the mark in recent Port Lincoln starts, getting a long way back and storming home. He draws off the track and is work an each-way ticket at double figure odds. TRIVAGO GIRL was a KI winner two starts back and should be thereabouts. ORLEANS ran well at Balaklava last time at a big price. JAY PEE BEE is a winner his only start here and draws the inside.

SELECTIONS: FALLOW, Galaxy Falls, Trivago Girl

Race 6 - 4:40PM Port Pirie Bus Service Benchmark 62 Handicap (Heat 7 SA Sprint Series) (1100 METRES)

SCARY GO ROUND has won two of her past five and was placed behind Raise An Army at Port Lincoln last time out. She has been placed here and does look the one to beat with the help of a claim. EIGHTBALSIDEPOCKET was a Bordertown winner last August and strips fitter for one run back at Port Lincoln last time. He draws to be in the thick of the action here. RUSTYDUSTYSUNSHINE has won 10 races and is no stranger to this circuit. His recent form is solid for a race like this and he’s a major contender. A THOUSAND DEGREES comes off a good effort at Balaklava behind Glory Game at Balaklava and he is a winner here. Stablemate KISSABLE EIGHT was placed at Broken Hill last time and must be considered. RUSHWA comes out of some much stronger races but would need to improve sharply. AUGUSTA ROCK was a winner here last June and has had a trial in readiness for his return.

SELECTIONS: SCARY GO ROUND, Rustydustysunshine, Eightbalsidepocket

RACE 7 - 5:10PM Festival Hire Benchmark 54 Handicap (1200 METRES)

ROCKFACE LOUIE has been racing well at Port Lincoln having placed at three of his past five and will find this easier than last time behind Phyla Vell. He has the claim and gets his chance. GET IN THE BOWL has a good record, placed five of 11 starts, and he ran OK behind Calypso Storm at Strathalbyn three runs back. I’M SO PRETTY hasn’t been too bad in both runs in SA and looks an improver in a race like this. SERIOUS MOONLIGHT was a Streaky Bay winner last time. PREDICT has been placed at both runs here. ICE HUNT was placed at Clare last time out.

SELCTIONS: ROCKFACE LOUIE, Get In The Bowl, I’m So Pretty
