Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

RACE 1 - 12:21PM Pike & Joyce Handicap (1600 METRES)

Good race. RITRATTO is building an imposing record with five wins from as many starts over the mile. He was dominant beating Charossa last time, he’ll roll forward and is sure to take some gunning down. IRONCLAD is the danger. This former European was impressive first-up over 1200m and should thrive getting out to the mile. He’s weighted to give this a big shake. VON COSTA GLASS is going well and will get a nice run from the barrier. DEXTER YOU DEVIL is racing very well and will appreciate the weight relief here with the claim for Stacey Metcalfe. ANALYTICA maps well and should be fitter for his first-up effort.

SELECTIONS: IRONCLAD, Ritratto, Dexter You Devil

RACE 2 - 12:56PM Holdfast Insurance Handicap (1050 METRES)

SWING AND BOOM started with the McEvoys here in SA before winning two races for the Price/Kent Jr stable and is on debut for David Jolly. He looked good beating Dawn Salute in a Strathalbyn jump-out last month and should give this a shake. THREE TEARS is going super and chasing three straight wins here after two Murray Bridge wins. He draws a good gate and has appeal. CHUCKY was good behind Narrative Star first-up at Gawler. He has been a touch costly but he’ll be in the mix here and will appreciate getting back here to Morphettville. LOAD AND GO won a Penola maiden before a good run behind Soul Obsession, while LARKHAM defeated Hankstar here last March and has trialled OK.

SELECTIONS: SWING AND BOOM, Chucky, Three Tears

RACE 3 - 1:31PM TAB Adelaide Cup Day - Monday March 8 Handicap (1100 METRES)

ECHOES IN ETERNITY is a promising filly chasing three straight but she’s poorly drawn here. She was too good for Pimm’s Party last time. PIMM’S PARTY draws out but wobbled around the turn behind River Twain last week. On the quick back-up she’s got some talent and must be given plenty of thought. Stablemate DAILY SPIRIT has missed a placed just once in eight starts and broke her maiden status when beating Point Blaze last time. PASSING PHASE is a nice horse who was placed in the Hill Smith Stakes behind Ain’tnodeeldun at $151 before going for a spell. SHOWUSYOURMOTOR is another with upside and she looked good winning her maiden at Strathalbyn last time. THE GRADUATE defeated Crown Mint in a recent trial and should get a nice run from barrier two.

SELECTIONS: ECHOES IN ETERNITY, Pimm’s Party, Daily Spirit

RACE 4 - 2:06PM Bill Swinton 80th Handicap (1050 METRES)

Really good race. CALYPSO REIGN looked very good first-up from a spell when he trucked into the race and scored a soft 2.3-length win over Heyington Station. MUSIC ADDITION flies fresh and he was good here behind Savatoxl in the Christmas Handicap before a break. TAKEN OFF has a good record here and was a soft winner over Ice Ghost last time but this is a significant rise in class. ELDERFLOWER has won five of 12 and stuck on well behind Lady Solly at Moonee Valley last time. GINGER JONES likes to race on speed but is poorly drawn and did lead throughout to beat Hidden Legend last time out. FLOSTAR showed good speed but faded behind Parino last week. TOFF LOVE is the second of the David Jolly runners and had solid support at SA debut when third behind Rock Hard. CALL IT A DAY made good ground behind LITTLE RICH BOY (who faces sticky gate) last time.

SELECTIONS: CALYPSO REIGN, Elderflower, Music Addition

RACE 5 - 2:41PM Zilzie Handicap (1800 METRES)

LORD VLADIVOSTOK defeated Pearl Bandit over a mile back in September and returned to winning form when getting over the top of Gougers last week. He draws out but the 1800m appeals and he’s sure to take beating. BLACK SYRAH was an eye-catching effort behind Hankstar at Murray Bridge two starts back before getting a long way back behind Black Sail last time. Jason Holder goes on and he looks suited getting out in trip. GRINZINGER STAR should be ready to fire third up for Karen Byrnes and out to 1800m appeals. DREAMED is another who should appreciate getting out to 1800m. MOTELL is back in trip but his form before last start was very good for this. HOBO BOB is going super and chasing three wins on end.

SELECTIONS: LORD VLADIVOSTOK, Black Syrah, Dreamed

RACE 6 - 3:16 PM Accolade Wines Handicap (1540 METRES)

BOLT BY has ability and was a Murray Bridge winner in maiden class two starts back before a good effort behind Struck By last time. The blinkers go on here and he has appeal. The $16 in early markets looks well over the odds. Stablemate DIAMOND TYCOON worked home strongly behind Puissance Dusoleil last time and that form is good for this. ECHO BOOMER was good beating Dreamed at his SA debut. He is now with Ryan Balfour and draws to get a nice run just behind the speed. WORSFOLD looked good winning on debut and draws a good gate with the in-form jockey Jessica Eaton in the saddle. TRUMPSTA draws wide but was good beating Free Hand at Murray Bridge last time. KYSHAKA was well tried when she finished off strongly but just couldn’t reel in stablemate Seboona at Bordertown. BUBBLERAP got a long way back and finished off well behind Saduka last time.

SELECTIONS: BOLT BY, Echo Boomer, Worsfold

RACE 7 - 3:56PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1200 METRES)

Another wide open race here, but FOUR OF A KIND can run a good race from a handy gate. She won well at Gawler and was better coming off the speed when fourth behind Pindaric last time. Stablemate ROSE TIARA draws out but did lead throughout to win at Gawler last time. MIDNIGHT STORM was well ridden and cut the corner from an inside gate only to be nailed by Pindaric first-up for his new stable. He draws out but has a good record here and is a winner second-up. PAGHMAN is first-up and had specking at his only start for the Clarken stable here behind Peloton back in September. He has the benefit of a trial under his belt. OCEAN REWARD was well backed to beat Call Me Curtis last week and despite drawing a sticky gate has strong claims. TULLYS GOLD has a good record of three wins and four placings from eight starts and draws perfectly in barrier two.

SELECTIONS: FOUR OF A KIND, Ocean Reward, Midnight Storm

RACE 8 - 4:36PM Lord Reims Stakes (2600 METRES)

TRALEE ROSE is drawn to get a lovely run from barrier four and she’s a progressive staying mare with upside. She was eased down winning the Bagot by seven lengths last time out and has been here before, running fourth in the SA Fillies Classic. She should also get a genuine tempo with THE RED SEA sure to roll along after he led by a big space last Saturday back in class and was able to hang on and win. LONG ARM is the danger to the favourite. He’s untapped and was strong late winning at Caulfield last time. He draws out but will be strong late. TARN’S PRINCE was a Sandown winner two starts back and comes out of the Long Arm race at Caulfield last time. MONGOLIAN MARSHAL strips fitter for his first-up effort and will appreciate the big drop in weight. MUSHAIREB draws a gate and must be respected, while FAROOQ got a long way back in the Birthday Cup and finished off well behind Declares War.

SELECTIONS: TRALEE ROSE, Long Arm, Mongolian Marshal

RACE 9 - 5:16PM Furphy Handicap (1600 METRES)

UNLACED draws a gate and she led throughout to beat Motell last time at Murray Bridge. She has a good record and can build on that here. The early speed battle could be crucial. LA RICHESSE draws the inside and she is another who likes to dictate on speed. She got a well back behind Lord Vladivostok last time but looks the big improver. ICECRUSHER is poorly drawn but she appreciated being ridden off a solid speed to score impressively at Gawler last time. HEIR OF TAVISTOCK was a Morphettville winner three starts back and his latest effort behind Black Sail was good for this. FAST PLAN was backed into favourite and was held-up at a crucial stage behind Puissance Dusoleil last time. ICE GHOST was good behind Taken Off here last time and will be finishing off hard. CROWN HARMONIUM and AMERIWIN are both racing well.

SELECTIONS: UNLACED, Icecrusher, La Richesse
