It’s official: Strathalbyn Cup is sold out

Today’s Northpoint Fleurieu Strathalbyn Cup is officially sold out.

Dubbed South Australia’s most picturesque and glamourous country race meeting, the Cup meeting is restricted to 1000 patrons this year and – predictably – numbers filled quickly.

“The club is delighted with the response, given it’s such a tricky time in the events space,” said club CEO Kristy Martin.

“The phones haven’t stopped all week, with people wanting to secure tickets.”

The club’s Langhorne Creek Vigneron’s Race Day – scheduled for November – was cancelled abruptly when South Australia went into lockdown.

Ms Martin said the Cup meeting’s sold-out status “is representative of the support around Strathalbyn”.

“A perfect 25-degree day is forecast, so the scene is set for a terrific Sunday out,” Ms Martin said.

“There will be something for everybody, including free kids’ activities, plus the very popular Fashions on the Field, with Bri Scanlon and Paul Clapton-Caputo judging all sections, including one for kids.”

Strathalbyn Racing Club is located less than one hour from Adelaide.

“Punters can get up close to the action and enjoy an unrivalled home straight view of the quality fields and jockeys,” Ms Martin said.

“It’s going to be a wonderful day.”
