Eleven Straight for Tony at Balaklava

Trainer Tony McEvoy has one of the more remarkable hot streaks going in racing after his winning streak at Balaklava extended to eleven straight wins on Wednesday. In the last three Balaklava meetings, McEvoy has had eleven runners for eleven winners proving that the track is a very happy hunting ground for the stable.

McEvoy has now registered 19 winners and 10 placings from 39 runners this season, running at a winning strike rate of 48.7% and a place rate of 74.4%.

If you invested $10 on Diamond Tycoon on 11 April and kept rolling over your winnings, that initial $10 investment would have netted you a cool $36,992 when Scrap Dragon passed the post first on Wednesday.

Superstar jockey Jamie Kah has been aboard eight of the eleven straight McEvoy winners and has now amassed 18 winners at the track herself this season at a 40.9% strike rate.

The Kah/McEvoy combination has been lethal this season with the two combining for 51 wins from 154 starts at 33.1% and with 6 weeks left in the season, you can count on that tally to keep growing.

On Saturday, Kah will head back up to Brisbane to chase her maiden Group 1 victory when she rides Super Cash in the Tattersalls’s Club Tiara at Doomben.

The next Balaklava raceday will be held on Wednesday 18 July where everyone will keen to find out whether Tony McEvoy can add to this amazing winning streak!
