Spring Selections: Oaks Day

The penultimate day of the Flemington Carnival is upon us and our experts give you their tip for the Group 1 Kennedy Oaks and their best bet on the card at Flemington.

Thanks again to Racing.com's Adam McGrath, the voice of South Australian racing Terry McAuliffe and The Advertiser's Lincoln Moore and Ben Scadden.

Group 1 Kennedy Oaks

Adam McGrath: Aloisia - She couldn't have been any more impressive last start. The form stacks up, she'll go around as the short priced favourite and she deserves to be.

Terry McAuliffe: Aloisia - Seemingly impossible to go past the favourite who has been outstanding winning her past two starts, the Group 1 Thousand Guineas and Group 2 AAMI Vase.

Lincoln Moore: Aloisia - Clearly the best filly in Australia and only has to settle to add the Oaks to a massive spring

Ben Scadden: Aloisia - She's been fantastic winning strong races at her past two and will love the step up to 2500m. She deserves her long odds-on quote and should win. Having said that, everyone thought Yankee Rose was a moral last year.

Flemington Best Bet

Adam McGrath: (Race 4) Night's Watch - He was impressive last start and that form can stack up here. As long as there's a good tempo he'll get every chance to overrun them late.

Terry McAuliffe: (Race 3) Silvera - In the race restricted to grey horses looks an outstanding chance for Tony McEvoy and Jamie Kah who combined to win with Dollar For Dollar on Cup Day. (Race 9) Split Lip - Has been terrific in all three runs this campaign in Melbourne and looks a great each way hope.

Lincoln Moore: (Race 5) Fox Hall - Scratched from Tuesday for this and looks well graded to grab a Flemington win.

Ben Scadden: (Race 6) Ball of Muscle - He's a proven top-flight sprinter and this looks a drop in grade for him. Middle draw gives Glyn Schofield plenty of options up the straight.
